About the Series

Advanced Notes in Information Science (ANIS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access book series that publishes conference proceedings, monographs, and thematic edited volumes at the intersection of information, communication, and computer sciences.

ANIS welcomes contributions in areas such as information retrieval, digital libraries, knowledge management, information behavior, data management, science communication, and related disciplines.

The series is indexed in Google Scholar, Crossref, and other databases, and all chapters are published under a CC BY-NC 4.0 license.


Position: Series Editor

Pro-Metrics invites applications for the position of Series Editor of Advanced Notes in Information Science (ANIS).

This is a remote, part-time academic role with remuneration, open as part of our editorial strategy to strengthen and expand the international scope of our book series portfolio.

The appointment is for an initial term of 2 years, renewable upon mutual agreement and performance.


Main Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the editorial strategy for the series, in coordination with the Pro-Metrics publishing office.
  • Evaluate book and volume proposals for thematic coherence, quality, and relevance to the series scope.
  • Oversee peer review processes for volumes and conference proceedings, ensuring compliance with COPE standards.
  • Collaborate with volume editors and authors to maintain the series’ academic quality.
  • Promote ANIS within international academic networks, events, and research communities.
  • Contribute to the visibility and indexing of the series in relevant databases and directories.

Desired Profile

  • PhD in information science, communication, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Recognized academic background and active research in topics related to information and communication technologies, information systems, information science, and related topics.
  • Editorial experience in scholarly publishing or coordination of academic volumes is an advantage.
  • Commitment to open access, ethical publishing, and international collaboration.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English.

Remuneration

This is a paid position. The Series Editor receives a share of the publication fees corresponding to each completed volume, as compensation for editorial coordination and oversight. The role is designed to recognize academic leadership while maintaining editorial independence and transparency.
