Editorial Process

From submission to publication: transparent and rigorous At Pro-Metrics, we follow structured workflows that guarantee integrity, transparency, and academic quality. While peer review and ethical oversight are common to all, the process differs according to the type of publication: journals, book series & edited volumes, individual books, or conference proceedings.

Journals

Submission & Initial Checks

  • Manuscripts are submitted via each journal’s platform.
  • The editorial office verifies:
    • Scope alignment
    • Formatting compliance
    • Plagiarism screening
    • Ethical considerations

Peer Review

  • Double-blind peer review with at least two reviewers.
  • For regular issues, the Editor-in-Chief assigns reviewers.
  • For special issues, the Editor-in-Chief appoints a Guest Editor, who assigns reviewers.

Decision & Revisions

  • The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision in all cases.
  • Authors submitting revised manuscripts must provide a detailed response to reviewer comments.

Production, Archiving & Publication

  • Authors sign a publication agreement and, if applicable, complete APC payments before production.
  • Articles are copyedited, typeset, assigned DOIs, and archived in CLOCKSS/LOCKSS.
  • Published in open access on the journal site.

Distribution & Indexing

  • Metadata is registered for indexing in relevant databases.
  • Content is disseminated through repositories, institutional networks, and social media.

Book Series & Edited Volumes

Proposal & Initial Checks

  • Proposals are reviewed by the Series Editor (for series volumes) or the Collection Editor (for standalone volumes).
  • The editorial office ensures compliance with:
    • Formatting requirements
    • Plagiarism screening
    • Ethical standards

Peer Review

  • Chapters undergo double-blind peer review.
  • The Volume Editor manages the review process.
  • For series volumes: the Series Editor makes the final decision.
  • For standalone edited volumes: the Volume Editor accepts chapters under the supervision of the Collection Editor.

Production, Archiving & Publication

  • Authors and editors sign a publication agreement before production.
  • Accepted chapters are edited, typeset, assigned DOIs, and included in the volume.
  • Volumes receive an ISBN; metadata is registered.
  • Content archived in CLOCKSS/LOCKSS.
  • Digital publication (OA chapters); print availability depends on the agreement.

Distribution & Indexing

  • Distributed through the Pro-Metrics Bookstore, academic aggregators, and partner platforms.
  • Indexed in relevant directories and databases.

Individual Books

Proposal & Initial Checks

  • The Collection Editor evaluates proposals.
  • The editorial office verifies:

Peer Review

  • Double-blind peer review for research monographs and textbooks.
  • Illustrated/public-facing books reviewed for accuracy and relevance.
  • The Collection Editor assigns reviewers and makes the final decision.

  • Authors sign a publication agreement before production.
  • Manuscripts are copyedited, typeset, assigned an ISBN/DOI, and archived in CLOCKSS/LOCKSS.
  • Digital publication is standard; print availability depends on the agreement.

Distribution & Indexing

  • Distributed via the Pro-Metrics Bookstore, Amazon KDP, Kobo, eLibro, and partner platforms.
  • Indexed in relevant bibliographic databases.

Conference Proceedings & Abstracts

Proposal & Initial Checks

  • Proposals may be submitted before or after the event.
    • Before: evaluated by the Collection Editor; the Proceedings Editor manages submissions and reviews on Pro-Metrics platforms.
    • After: organizers must provide evidence of peer review conducted within the event.
  • The editorial office verifies formatting, ethics, and plagiarism checks.

Peer Review

  • Proceedings managed on the Pro-Metrics platforms follow a double-blind peer-review process.
  • Externally reviewed proceedings require documentation that has been validated by the editorial office.
  • The Proceedings Editor makes the final decision.

Production, Archiving & Publication

  • Authors and editors sign a publication agreement before production.
  • Papers or abstracts are edited, typeset, assigned an ISBN/DOI, and archived in CLOCKSS/LOCKSS.
  • Published digitally; print availability depends on the agreement.

Distribution & Indexing

  • Distributed through the Pro-Metrics Bookstore, repositories, and aggregators.
  • Indexed in conference proceedings directories and relevant databases.
