  • Which journals does Pro-Metrics publish?

  • Are your journals open access?

Yes, all journals are published in open access under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

 

  • Do journals charge APCs?

Some do, others do not. Example: IJSMC charges an APC only upon acceptance. Details on each journal page.

 

  • How do I submit an article?

Through the submission portal on each journal’s website.

 

  • How do special issues work?

Special issues are managed by Guest Editors under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief. Open calls are listed on Calls for Papers.

  • What types of books do you publish?

Monographs, textbooks, illustrated works, edited volumes, conference proceedings, and abstracts.

 

  • How do I propose a book?

Submit a proposal using our Book Proposal Template or email books@pro-metrics.org.

 

  • Do you charge fees for book publishing?

Yes, transparent fees apply. See Publishing Models & Licensing.

 

  • Are books open access?

Most are, especially digital versions. Print editions are commercialized depending on the publishing model.

 

  • In which languages can I submit?

English, Spanish, or Portuguese.

  • What is a volume editor’s role?

They coordinate peer review and acceptance of chapters. Final decisions are taken by the Series Editor (if part of a series) or supervised by a Collection Editor (if standalone).

  • Can I propose an edited volume or book series?

Yes. Contact editorial@pro-metrics.org with your proposal.

  • Are chapters in edited volumes open access?

Yes, all chapters are open access. The complete book may also be available in print.

  • Do you publish conference proceedings?

Yes, peer-reviewed proceedings with DOIs and professional metadata.

  • Can proceedings be proposed before or after a conference?

Both. Before the event, we can host submissions and peer review; after the event, evidence of peer review must be provided.

  • What templates should be used?

Conference Proceedings Template and Abstract Volume Template (see For Authors).

  • Are proceedings archived and indexed?

Yes, archived in CLOCKSS/LOCKSS and the National Library of Estonia.

  • What are the main steps from submission to publication?

Submission → Initial checks (scope, ethics, plagiarism, format) → Double-blind peer review → Editorial decision → Agreement & APC (if applicable) → Production → Archiving & dissemination → Indexing & promotion.

 

  • Who makes final editorial decisions?

Editors-in-Chief for journals; Series Editors or Collection Editors for books.

 

  • What peer review model is used?

Double-blind by default.

 

  • How long does review take?

Varies by project; we aim for transparency and timely communication.

  • What license do you use?

CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 for journals, book chapters, and OA books. Other CC licenses may apply in co-published editions.

 

  • Who owns copyright?

Authors retain copyright of articles and chapters; Pro-Metrics holds rights to complete works (e.g., series volumes) for distribution.

 

  • Do you support institutional or sponsored editions?

Yes. Co-branded and sponsored models are available.

  • Do you offer discounts?

Yes, e.g., 15% discount for reviewers. Waivers may apply for authors from low-income countries.

 

  • Do VAT rules apply?

Yes, 24% VAT applies to EU individuals and entities without valid VAT.

 

  • In which currency are fees charged?

All fees are listed in EUR; USD equivalents are provided for reference.

  • Which ethical framework do you follow?

COPE Core Practices.

 

  • What counts as misconduct?

Plagiarism, falsification, duplicate publication, unethical authorship, undisclosed conflicts.

 

  • How is misconduct handled?

Cases are investigated; corrections or retractions are issued when needed.

 

  • Do you require data sharing?

We encourage open data when possible, with a data availability statement.

 

  • What about human/animal studies?

Require informed consent, ethics approvals, anonymization, and compliance with relevant standards.

 

  • Can authors use AI tools?

Yes, for editing or visualization, but not for generating content. AI use must be declared.

  • Where are your works indexed?

Journals and books are indexed in major repositories, databases, and aggregators (see each journal or series page).

 

  • Do you assign DOIs?

Yes, for journal articles, book chapters, and books.

 

  • How are works preserved?

Through CLOCKSS/LOCKSS, legal deposit, and institutional repositories.

 

  • How are books distributed?

Through our Bookstore, Amazon KDP, Kobo, eLibro, and other channels.

  • Can I join as a reviewer or editor?

Yes, see For Reviewers or For Editors for details.

  • Do you have vacancies?

  • Do you issue reviewer certificates?

Yes, recognition is given to active reviewers.
