About the AWARI Journal
AWARI is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to research on social network analysis, network visualization, data mining, machine learning, and internet use. The journal welcomes theoretical and empirical studies from sociology, computer science, political science, information science, communication, and related fields.
It is indexed in Google Scholar, Crossref, and Dimensions, and publishes articles in English, Spanish, and Portugueseunder a CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
Position: Editor-in-Chief (English-Language Section)
Pro-Metrics invites applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief (English-Language Section) of AWARI.
This is a voluntary and remote academic position, open as part of our ongoing strategy for editorial strengthening and renewal. The selected candidate will lead the journal’s English-language editorial workflow, contributing to its internationalization and scholarly quality.
The position is appointed for an initial term of two years, renewable upon mutual agreement and performance evaluation.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the editorial strategy for manuscripts submitted in English, ensuring thematic coherence and scientific quality.
- Supervise and coordinate the peer-review process, ensuring fairness, transparency, and ethical compliance.
- Make final editorial decisions on manuscripts assigned to the English section.
- Collaborate with the existing editorial team to enhance international visibility and indexing potential.
- Promote the journal within relevant academic communities, networks, and events.
- Uphold the principles of COPE Core Practices and Pro-Metrics’ Ethical Publishing Policies.
Desired Profile
- PhD in a relevant field such as social network analysis, sociology, information science, communication, computer science, or related disciplines.
- Proven expertise and active research in social network analysis or adjacent areas.
- Experience as an author or reviewer in scholarly journals is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong commitment to open access publishing, research ethics, and academic integrity.
- Excellent command of English and strong academic writing skills.
